This Low Carb Sparkling Blackberry Bourbon Smash is a great spin on the classic cocktail! It contains deliciously sweet blackberries which have been muddled to release their sweet flavors, lime juice for a little citrusy vibe and fresh mint for a little flare! This drink is made in minutes and is a great way to relax after a long week at work!
Whether it’s 5 o’clock somewhere or it’s a weekend hanging out with the girls, our blackberry smash cocktail is sure to be refreshing. With very little prep and few ingredients, this drink is made in less than 5 minutes.
It’s got just enough sweetness when you use fresh blackberries that are in season, but if they’re not in season they could be a little tart so taste test before you serve to your guests.
You made need to add a few drops of liquid stevia extract to the keto cocktail, but don’t worry adding this won’t increase the carb content of the drink.
This cocktail is fun and fruity! You won’t even believe it only has 2g of total carbs per serving! One of those grams of carbs is fiber too!
In this keto version, we’ve skipped the high sugar sweeteners and instead let the natural sweetness of the blackberries shine through. You won’t find any honey, simple syrup or granulated sugar in this cocktail!

- fresh blackberries
- bourbon
- sparkling water
- crushed ice
- fresh lime
- mint leaves
PRO TIP: If you don’t like bourbon you can easily substitute for vodka or any other low carb liquor
How to make a Low Carb Sparkling Blackberry Bourbon Smash
First, muddle the black berries. Next, shake together the blackberries and bourbon and pour into 2 glasses.
Then, divid the water and ice between each glass, and give each a light stir. Finally, squeeze fresh lime into each and garnish with fresh mint.
PRO TIP: Fresh mint really makes this low carb cocktail pop! Don’t skip it 🙂

Sparkling Blackberry Bourbon Smash
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup fresh blackberries smashed with a fork or muddled
- 2 shots bourbon
- 1 1/2 cups sparkling water
- 1 cup crushed ice
- 2 wedges lime
- 2 sprigs mint
Instructions
- Shake together the blackberries and bourbon and pour into 2 glasses.
- Dive the water and ice between each glass, and give each a light stir.
- Squeeze fresh lime into each and garnish with fresh mint.
- Serve.

Those blackberries need to be super ripe because when I did this recipe exact there was hardly any sweetness and too much sparkling water. Honestly all I ended up tasting was the mint.
