Being on a keto diet doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your birthday and still stay in ketosis. In today’s post we’re going to talk about ways to make your birthday celebrations completely keto including a keto birthday cake!
The first thing that comes into many people’s minds when you think birthday is cake. You may think, how in the world am I going to make a keto birthday cake?
Well, we’ve got you covered. In our last ebook, 10 Low Carb Instant Pot Pressure Cooker Recipes, we created this super dark chocolate cake which will knock your socks off and even the non keto goers will love this cake!
If you want to switch things up and not have a cake, this batter can easily be made into keto cupcakes. Faith also made this delicious vanilla keto butter cake recipe too so if you don’t want chocolate, this is a great alternative. I’m a chocolate lover myself!

These keto cupcakes are a savory and sweet combination with candied bacon and buttercream frosting – yum! Everyone will be reaching for seconds!
So what’s a keto birthday celebration without freaking delicious tasting food!
First off Keto Appetizers
Think keto finger foods.Foods that you can easily walk around with and still enjoy that company of your friends and family.
One of our favorites are these super tasty Bacon-Wrapped Cheese-Stuffed Jalapeno Poppers! These are perfect for a keto birthday party! Another good option would to be baked wings coated with a low carb teriyaki cause, butter garlic sauce or a low carb BBQ sauce like this one we love!
If we’re talking an adult keto birthday party, some things that you might want to include our low carb cocktails or low-carb beers. Personally I love a nice glass of Pinot Noir or Cabernet.
Ways to make low carb cocktails
- Nix the fruit juice and opt for water sweetened with a flavored stevia
- Diet tonic or soda water instead of tonic water
- Diet Coke instead of Regular Coke
- Flavored vodka with diet tonic
- Low carb sangria (dry red wine, diet sprite, brandy, and a few drops of stevia)
Keto Birthday Dinner Ideas
As far as meals go, I’m a huge fan of doing pulled meats. They’re so easy and are a perfect keto meal! Some of my favorite things are taking a bunch of chicken thighs or a pork butt, putting it in the instant pot to cook and then shredding it. It’s almost 100% hands off and you can even use a hand mixer to shred it Just top it with your favorite low carb sauce.
In our recipe ebook, Faith made this delicious better than crack chicken recipe which would be perfect to serve at your keto birthday party. You can even make some low carb tortillas or low carb chips. The possibilities are endless.
If you want to go traditional keto, grilling uncured all beef hot dogs, uncured sausages or hamburgers are a great option! Just skip the bun. Load it up with mustard, dill relish, low carb ketchup. Top it with bacon, onion and other low carb toppings.
Keto Birthday Desserts
As for desserts, I recently bought a book on Amazon called The Keto Ice Cream Scoop. It has a ton of different keto ice cream recipes which will pair perfectly with your keto birthday cake and keto cupcakes.
