Smoothies I think are one food that can be made to fit any diet. Low carb, keto, vegan, gluten-free, paleo, whole30, THM, diabetic and the list goes on.
Many can be made with and without dairy (just sub heavy whipping cream or greek yogurt for unsweetened almond milk or unsweetened coconut milk. Some people even like using flax milk or cashew milk as a dairy free alternative too!
Many smoothies are made with nuts, seeds and legumes like chia seeds, almond butter, peanut butter – but all of those are optional and can be added or omitted depending on your dietary restrictions.
Some people like to add protein powders such as grass-fed whey protein or a whey protein isolate because they are lower in carbohydrates and higher in protein than say a pea protein or a brown rice protein powder. That is if they are trying to make it a keto recipe.
